Entering through the main entrance is the Havana Gallery featuring four acrylic on canvas paintings of the Havana ’59 series created between 2009 and 2011. Straight ahead is The Ghosts of Old Havana, a fantasy of Cuba featuring notorious people of the golden age atop the Payret Theater marquee. To the right of it are A Man and a Woman and Street Art of Old Havana, both featuring graffiti of the Cuban style. The right wall of the main gallery features (left to right) 7249, the apartment in Upper Darby where George lived from the ages of 9 to 14; Urban Corner, three homes in West Philadephia; and Studio 7 Lounge, the corner of 60th and Spruce Street in West Philly. The wall facing the windows in the main gallery features a 6-panel painting of Fernon Street in South Philadelphia, titled It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. The entire painting is 20' long and depicts 15 homes as decorated at Christmas in 2019. The project took more than 6 months to complete. Please click on the image above to enlarge photo.

The south wall of the Main Gallery features Wayne on a Summer Night (approx. 18" x 40") and was painted in 2004.  69th Street Today and Yesterday contrasts the structural walking leading from the street to the terminal against a backdrop of the ornate McClatchy Building adorned with tiles. The spaces next to the windows on the east facing wall of the Main Gallery are occupied by two plein air paintings of North Wayne in Radnor. (left to right) The Yellow House and The Row were painted in 2004, while (far left) the Radnor Historical Society in an alcove of the Main Gallery was painted in 2005.
